Accessibility statement

Making this website accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities, matters a great deal to me. Accessibility is built into the code itself, not added through an external accessibility plugin.

Conformance

The site has been adapted to the requirements of the Israeli Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Accessibility Adjustments for Service) Regulations, 2013, and Israeli Standard SI 5568, which is based on WCAG 2.0 level AA. The site is also built to WCAG 2.1 level AA.

What has been done

  • A hierarchical heading structure, labeled page regions and semantic markup for easy screen reader navigation.
  • Full keyboard navigation, including a "Skip to content" link, a clear focus indicator and closing the menu with the Escape key.
  • Text alternatives for meaningful images, including images in blog posts.
  • The language and text direction of every page are set in the code, in Hebrew and in English.
  • Sufficient color contrast between text and background.
  • Readable fonts, with the handwritten font used for short phrases only.
  • Support for text resizing up to 200% without loss of content, and a layout adapted to phones and tablets.
  • Respect for the operating system's "reduce motion" setting.
  • Testing with an automated checker and manual keyboard testing.

Known limitations

The site links to external websites, such as program and partner websites and social networks. These sites are not under my control and may not be fully accessible.
